New MSOS Course date announced

MSOS run a variety of training courses, aimed at crew with all levels of knowledge and competence. MSOS is approved by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) to run official MCA medical courses, such as ‘Medical care on board ship’
New dates have now been announced for 10th – 12th September 2012.
The content of a typical course would cover:
- Assessing trauma
- Immediate life-saving treatments
- Practical skills – wound management, applying slings and casts,reducing dislocations, strapping etc...
- Dealing with dehydration
- Hypothermia and prolonged immersion
- Common medical problems
- Life-raft survival
- Review of a typical medical kit review (or your own kit if you have it with you)
A fundamental purpose of each course is to establish a personal relationship with the crew.
