Cocos Keeling Islands ready to welcome Oyster Fleet
18 October 2011
The Oyster World Rally fleet is ensured a spectacular introduction to the Indian Ocean with a stopover in the Cocos Keeling islands. The fleet will anchor off the stunning Direction Island, one of 26 islets that make up South Keeling atoll. With a population of only 600 people, the Cocos Islanders are always keen to meet new faces and they are looking forward to making the acquaintance of the Oyster World Rally fleet.

With 16 miles of coastline and a land area of only five square miles, much of the fun to be had in the Cocos Islands is in or on the water. Whether drift snorkelling in "The Rip" where the constant 2-3 knot current into the lagoon attracts a wide variety of marine life, diving on the outside of the reef, windsurfing, kiteboarding, or simply relaxing on one of the powder white beaches with your toes in the turquoise waters of the lagoon there is plenty for the Oyster Rally fleet to look forward to.
